We finally pulled out the Diego potty yesterday that we had bought for Mr. A a few weeks ago. As you can imagine, it was pretty interesting to him and it was new. For a while he will tell us that he has to go poopy ("ca-ca" actually) while he's in the tub, so we would put him on our toilet and let him sit there. Of course, he would do nothing and run back to the tub.
So, last night when he said, in the middle of his bath, "Mama, ca-ca's" I asked him if he wanted to get out and go poopy on the potty. He said yes and ran into the other bathroom where his Diego potty was. He sat on it for a while, would get up, run around, shut the door (because every man needs his privacy, right?), come back and sit on it, and repeat. At one point he "tooted" while sitting on the potty and I told him to do more of that. He got up, came back and sat down and did more. Before I knew it, his toots had turned in to real poops and we went balistic (I had to get DH to come up from downstairs, but there were hi-5s galore). Then, I told him to sit down and do some more and...he did!! He had a complete poop on that little toilet!
Thank you, Diego, for starting what we hope to become a very long-lasting tradition at our house and here's to the beginning of a house where only 1 little person is wearing diapers at a time (I can dream, right?!).
And for those of you thinking "It won't last" - well, he went peepee on the potty today. We shall see! :) I promise...I'm not too optimistic, but I can dream.

Oh, I'm SO jealous! I'm still fighting with my 3 1/2 year old to try pooping on his potty. I'm staring down the prospect of 3 kids in diapers at the moment and it does NOT put me in my happy place.
Go Andrew!
Whit- you don't know how lucky you are if he can keep this up.
He can do it! I am so excited for you! Consistency, consistency, right? I think it is all about timing with each kid...I have one of each and it isn't boys are harder than girls or any of that garbage, it is about timing it right with the kid. Jacob trained at 2 yrs 9 mos and Anna at 2 yrs 4 mos, but that was when they were ready. Jacob probably would have been done 3 months earlier, but we thought moving across the country would be fun. Go Andrew, we are so proud! Just a tip: We did a potty treat each time there was a successful use...not just an attempt to get the treat, it had to be a complete use and it worked well with our two. I am sure you have heard it before!
Brooke - no 3 in diapers for you. I'm rooting for Nate. You and Mindy are going to have your babies close to the same time!
Seriously just as jealous as Brooke! NO FAIR!!! Barrett runs and hides while he fills his diaper. If he keeps it up, we're going to have to get these two together to do some sitting on their own potty chairs while Andrew teaches Barrett! Often, poop is the hardest to teach, pee is much easier, IMHO! Good job buddy!
p.s. can you believe you're writing a post about poo poo and pee pee! YOU HAVE ARRIVED!
